Welcome, friends, I’m so glad you decided to stop by today and join me for a luncheon table setting I put together from items thrifted over the past couple of years. I hope you’ve been enjoying the holidays so far. The decorating is finished at my house with a much simpler approach this year. Friends are coming to visit and I pulled this table together for a relaxed, festive luncheon so we could enjoy a casual meal together.
I started with a tablecloth from Dillards that I found while thrifting. It’s a beautiful plaid that looks so cheerful and inviting on the table. In the picture above you can also see the Yamazaki, “Cache” flatware that we found a couple of years ago in a Thrift/Consignment shop in North Carolina. I love to use this flatware. The gold and silver combination speaks to the season and the design is quite arresting.
The plate stack is quite simple with a gold, metal charger at the bottom followed by a dinner plate and a soup bowl by Longaberger. The china features beautiful poinsettia and pine motifs and has a lovely red border around the rim. The china also has raised flowers that run around the border of the plate. You can see them in the picture above. This set is stoneware, dishwasher safe and quite lovely. It puts me in the holiday spirit. Found these in a little shop near home on consignment. I was able to get six place settings.
Here you can see the china up close. I love the raised border that intermingles with the poinsettias around the edge.
Two different patterns were chosen for the crystal glasses. The water glass is a beautiful cut glass selection called “Rockford” by Noritake and was a Thrift Store find. The red wine glass is a Calvin Klein and another Thrift Store find. I love the balloon shape of the Calvin Klein glass. Mixing crystal adds interest to the table and makes it more fun.
A simple centerpiece of red poinsettia, ivy and a variegated green adds some additional color to the table. It looks so pretty and makes me think of Christmas.
The napkin is another plaid pattern surrounded by a beaded poinsettia napkin ring.
I served a French stew for lunch…an all in one dish that was easy to put together. Just added some homemade rosemary bread and it made a delicious meal.
Our Friends brought a beautiful custard and fruit dessert that was served in crystal sherbert dishes in the “Park Lane” pattern. The dessert looked almost as good as it tasted.
It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating Friends and the Holiday Season. Thanks for joining me and have a wonderful week.
